A while ago, I parked this newsletter (formally The Lead) due to an overlap with other content I was creating. It didn’t have a place in the larger scheme of things so I thought better to hit the pause button. Since then, I completed my studies in work psychology, opened a private practice, and took offices in Dublin City. This work needed a website, so I developed Human Performance and launched an associated newsletter to share information on the psychology of human performance - the mental skills every human being needs to manage difficulties and achieve our goals.
In an effort to get this content distributed further and in front of more eyes, I’m republishing it here on Substack. You don’t need to do anything; you’ll receive each new issue in your inbox. So What Can You Expect?
Peak Performer is a newsletter that delivers content to help you better understand yourself and others. After all, every success and failure we experience comes down to relationships. How we relate to ourselves and others and the events we experience largely dictate our actions. If we can find a healthier way to process our experiences, we may lead a happier and healthier working life. The articles I share aim to help you do this.
The content is founded on over one hundred and twenty years of psychological research and practice. We have learned much about the human condition from Norman Tripplet's work with elite cyclists in 1900 to the late Daniel Kahneman’s Noble Prize-winning work on heuristics and thinking systems. The material here takes account of findings from domains such as business & management and sports psychology to provide a useable set of concepts and tools to help you cope with challenges and perform to your best in work and life.
